EMT Skills Verification- (4 Hours)  This course provides refresher training prior to evaluating EMT skills competency. Our course meets the State of California skills testing requirements for EMTs to recertify both at a state and national level. Testing consists of an evaluation on the 10 core skills that are required for certification.  This includes:

  • Patient Assessment Medical & Trauma 
  • Airway Emergencies, Breathing Emergencies 
  • CPR & AED 
  • Circulation Emergencies 
  • Neurologic Emergencies 
  • Soft Tissue Injury 
  • Musculoskeletal Injury 
  • Obstetrical Emergencies

OCEMS Accreditation- (4.5 Hours) EMT's who are seeking employment as an EMT in Orange County must successfully complete an OCEMS approved EMT Expanded Scope Accreditation course based on the OCEMS Policy 315.00. This course is approximately 4 hours and includes:

  • OCEMS Expanded Scope of Practice
  • Orange County EMS System
  • Orange County EMS Policies Regarding Patient Care and Transport
  • Endotracheal Tube and Tracheostomy Tube Suctioning
  • Glucometer Use
  • MDI Assistance
  • Auto-Injector
  • 12-Lead EKG Placement
  • IV Set-Up and Monitoring
  • Skills Assessment and Post-test

*Must pass post-test with a score of 80% or better

CEVO 3 - (6 Hours) Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO) 3: Ambulance Classroom Course adapts National Safety Council proven defensive driving techniques to the unique nature of ambulance work, training drivers in six- to eight-hours to navigate in traffic safely in emergency and non-emergency situations under severe time constraints and stress. Topics include handling blind spots, cushion of safety, navigating through intersections, proper ways to pass and change lanes, backing and parking safely, avoiding tailgaters and improving driver reaction time. This course is intended for any EMS professional that operates the Emergency Vehicle at any given time.

BLS Health Care Providers CPR & AED (4 Hours)  Basic Life Support training reinforces healthcare professionals' understanding of the importance of early CPR and defibrillation, basic steps of performing CPR, relieving choking, and using an AED; and the role of each link in the Chain of Survival.  This course is taught under the American Heart's Association (AHA) 2010 guidelines.
