At CAL-MED Ambulance we offer several levels of service and are providers of several specialty services as well. These include;
(BLS) Basic Life Support Ambulance: Our ambulances are equipped with all the latest, high quality equipment and are staffed by two highly trained Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT’s). Cal-Med Ambulance provides BLS ambulance services 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
(ACLS/CCT) Advanced Cardiac Life Support Ambulance: Is an assembly of highly trained and certified Registered Nurses, to transport patients with critical care needs, such as Intravenous (IV) Monitoring, Cardiac Monitoring and, or Catheters. Supported by specifically trained Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT’s) and the latest medical equipment.
(NICU) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit: Our ambulances are equipped with an industry specific heavy duty inverter to run auxiliary medical devices (cardiac monitors, IV pumps, ventilator, etc.), as well as medical grade MedAir, considered standard equipment for NICU transports. Our staff receives specialized training in order to assist medical staff when transporting high risk patients.
(RT/SCT) Respiratory Therapist Ambulance: Uutilizes a team of experienced, certified Respiratory Therapists, (RT’s) and EMT’s to safely transport patents with a Tracheotomy or those that are Ventilator Dependent.
Bariatric Ambulance Transportation: We have the ability to securely and comfortably transport larger patients, from 350 to 1,000 pounds. In an environment with an increasing need for this type of service, CAL-MED Ambulance is committed to ensuring the safety, dignity and comfort of its growing number of bariatric patients. Our bariatric ambulance utilizes a specially designed gurney which is wider and can support more weight than a traditional gurney.
Long Distance Ambulance Transport: If you are thinking of transferring a loved one from one location to another, or if their current medical facility can no longer provide the medical treatment that is needed, we can help. Our medical transport services include two or three professional drivers that drive straight through to your destination. Our services include an expert medical crew to provide patient care, and they have compassionate bedside manners.
Special Event Ambulance Standby Services: When large groups of people gather for events, there is a high probability someone may become ill or injured. Being prepared to respond to an emergency minimizes delays in treatment and, if necessary, ensures immediate transport to the nearest hospital. CAL-MED Ambulance offers on-site Basic Life Support (BLS) coverage for a fee to organizations for community, corporate, or sporting events. Utilizing state-of-the-art equipment, our highly trained professionals are committed to providing the highest quality of emergency medical standby services throughout Los Angeles County and Orange County.
